3 D printing
« on: March 09, 2015, 08:12:56 am »
baffles me.  How can an object pop out of a printer with 3 dimensions.
I am sure some people find it useful, thus its popularity.
I am showing my age and that's ok.

I don't 100% understand how it works either but it seems like awesome technology.

I think its pretty cool but what is the real purpose of it?  That I don't really know about.

I heard on the news the other day that some parents couldn't afford to buy their kid an artificial hand (I can't recall how the boy lost his hand) so someone offered to make the boy a new hand with a 3D printer! How wonderful is that. He's now able to grasp objects, pick things up, point to stuff, it's really cool. How awesome is modern technology?

Being baffled by 3D printing is not showing your age.  This is something new.  It's a little mind blowing how it can be possible.

I completely understand why that baffles you.  It takes a lot to surprise me now a days.  Seems crazy, and I don't really see how it would be useful to me.  Just think about what will be coming next.
