customer service

I called Centurylink the other day and the man answered the phone "how can I make your day better?"
He Couldn't take off the extra phone  charge that I got myself into, but I thought that was a great way to greet someone.

That was a nice way to answer the phone, but why couldn't he take the charge off?

That is a great way to greet someone but you could have asked for a supervisor and I'm sure they would have been happy to accommodate your request for a credit.  After all, companies don't want to lose business over a small issue.
