My husband is a closet prepper so he has a few things stacked away in case of emergencies. We have packs of food, first aid kits, backpacks full of items, torches, life jackets etc. We watch Preppers on tv and to be honest, I think some of the Preppers are crazy but I like to see how they are able to live without the help of outside assistance. I guess it doesn't do any harm to think about the 'what if's' but I wouldn't personally get things out of perspective.

You can only be as prepared as you can because depending on what kind of emergency you are having all of your supplies could be wiped out in a heartbeat so knowledge of surviving in different situations should be a must to acquire. It also never hurts to have a few things packed in an emergency bag in case you can take it with you.

Yes I am always prepared. Flashlight next to me always. Canned food if I am hungry and cereal which is my favorite and I can eat it dry. As far as my animals we have gone to the cellar many times. I have a TV in the cellar but never had to use it yet. we also have a box that goes off when weather is dangerous. so I feel safe.

I have a lot of dehydrated canned items in my pantry. Water at this point is no problem and gas is too, But if should lose all power also have a camp stove and my bbq for heating and cooking. We very seldom have any problems where we are, But a few years back the roads were closed down because of ice for several days. The grocery store shelves were mostly bear and so were the convience store. all the Churchs and members were cooking and feeding stranded people. Opening their homes and even the gyms were putting people up. I was not living here at them time but this went on for over a week. I pray it dose not happen again.

I always have canned goods but I'm not stocked up on them like I should be. I do keep a good supply of toilet paper and my phone charged high (if that helps). We definitely need to put a plan in place for all kind of emergencies.

I keep extra canned food, shelf stable milk, and toiletries in the basement, and we have a gas grill too cook on.  The big problem though is when power goes out in the winter, there is no heat.  We do have a fireplace but that really only warms up the living room.

I'm not really prepared.  I should think more about it though.

Not really. But I do enjoy being on prepper sites and forums (until they make me paranoid and I have to take a break to keep my sanity :P).

We have flashlights in every room, last earthquake here that was big enough to cause trouble came before daylight.  Keep our cell phones charged, our family has a person out of the area we would all call to check in.  No land line phones in that earthquake, but the cells all worked.   We always have a small kit in each of our vehicles with water and some food, batteries radio, flashlight and blanket.  We have lots of food and water in our home (well stocked pantry) and keep our propane tanks full on our grills.  Two freezers full of food, that we all ate out of (neighbors too) in the last earthquake.   We have a lot of candles so as not to use up all the batteries in our flashlights.  And like some others have said, we have a lot of camping gear.
