I think that he was a bit excessive the punishment of his child. AP may have learned it while growing up and/or been treated in the same manner but a generation ago we didn't know the psychological impact that behavior like this could create. I think that the National Football League overstepped their boundaries in their punishment-kind of like telling him how to raise his children. I think that counseling and parenting classes would have been a better route to go. If AP decided to admonish his children in the same manner a second time, after counseling/parenting classes, I would be in full agreement with the course of action initially taken by the NFL. Good Luck to Peterson ...especially because now, if his child misbehaves, AP will not be able to take corrective verbal action-the child will know what happens if AP lays a finger on him.
