Paid Offer Question
« on: January 11, 2008, 06:01:45 am »
I posted this on the Help thread a few days ago and did not get a response, so thought I would try here.  ;D  Any help would be appreciated!

My room mate used to have a Netflix account (she canceled it several months ago).  Is it okay for me to sign up and get credit even though we share the same address?   I know not to sign up for an offer that I have had previously, but I didn't know if being at the same address would be considered "same household."  Don't want to raise any red flags or do anything that could be considered fraud.

Thanks!

Do not use fake name or anything. If they cancelled netflix months ago then it doesn't matter.  You can still sign up for netflix. But I am really confused as to what you are saying. :dontknow: :dontknow:

use a fake name and social and tell them you just move in

Why would you have to give Netflix your social security number?

I know not to fake any of the info.  The idea is to AVOID fraud.  I am working too hard to earn $$ here to get shut down for lying.  I learned a long time ago, you make more $$ playing by the rules than by breaking them!

What I am asking is can I sign up for Netflix and get paid for the offer when someone in my house has previously had a Netflix account?

Netflix doesn't go by address, it goes by Account Holder, so if you yourself have never had Netflix, you are good to go.

Right! As long as an offer, such as Netflix, does not state, "One account per household", you as well may sign up for it no matter if say, 10 people in your household signed up  for it.
Netflix just states that you must be a NEW Member in order to get the special offer. Does not state anything about same address/household.

BTW, I've had Netflix for 3 months now and absolutely LOVE IT! Kicking myself in the  :bootyshake: for ever renting movies from a Video Store, A LOT of wasted money there!

Same here.I LOVE Netflix and would do that offer in a minute if we weren't trying to cut down on our monthly expenses.  Netflix is GREAT for renting seasons of TV shows that you either missed, or don't have access to (HBO, etc).  We used Netflix to watch all 5 seasons of Sopranos, just one after the other and it was so fun!  Something to look forward to in the mail every few days!

Yes, you can have multiple account holders per household! I live in a sorority house, and I've seen about seven people with Netflix subscriptions, so you should be fine.  :)

Thanks for all the answers.  ;D   I'm off to complete the Netflix offer.   alissatucci, great idea about renting TV shows....I rarely watch TV during the week, so it will be fun to catch up on old shows when I have the time on weekends!

Netflix gave me a little hassle but they had to verify who I was. Moved intonew place and prior tenant had name Michael pffft go figure and they thought I was trying to get over. Just a simple scan and email of lease and it was over. Netflix is an awesome service especially when it snows.
