We always have ham, turkey and sometimes bbq brisket. Large family. I usually will eat a small slice of turkey and 1 small slice of ham. I prefer my veggies more.  Then of course always desserts.

Yes ham - we usually make both because even if we go to family for Thanksgiving we like to have turkey at home to make sandwiches with - so yummy and we like ham to make casseroles and breakfast meals with and sandwiches.  Looking forward to Thanksgiving  :turkey:  Hope you have a wonderful one whatever you decide to make for the meal.

In the past, when I cooked much more, I usually had turkey, but also served a roast pork, Cornish hens, a corned beef and one time when everyone agreed they wanted an Italian Thanksgiving, we had lasagna and veal parmesan.  Take poll and see what everyone would like, or better yet, if you are doing most of the cooking and clean-up yourself, decide what sounds good to you this year and serve what you want.

I think any meat is fine.  I prefer ham.  I always think mac and cheese should become a thanksgiving tradition...its always a missing item...

How about a nice roast beef? Just stab some holes all over the outside of the roast and stuff the holes with pieces of fresh garlic. Smother the roast in Kosher salt and bake at 325 degrees until it is to your liking in the center. Serve with baked potatoes smothered in butter and sour crème with broccoli or green beans on the side and you have yourself a very nice Thanksgiving dinner indeed with very little work involved.

This year we are going to my sister in law`s house, so I don`t need to worry about what to cook. Well I still need to think about what to bring.
