If you were to write a book what would it be about? and would you include your family or friends as your characters?

I was reading up on some family history and it brings back memories of my late parents. If I had to write a book, It would be about their story and how they met. There would definitely some humor and some life learning survival skill lessons  and their ultimate sacrifice to keep our family together without being taken away because we were so poor. But that is to be determined. This is only some thoughts but starting it would be another task. Until then I would like to hear from you what would you write about and so forth...
