Addictions
« on: August 13, 2014, 05:10:55 pm »
Okay folks, let's pull the skeletons out of the closets.  Some of us may have "mastered" our addictions; however, I don't fall into that category so here's my confession.

Caffeine: It's a little bit weird for me if I don't have chocolate, coffee or pepsi in my home.  I've tried to kick my caffeine habit in the past; however, I feel I need an energetic kick in my circulatory system each day.  I take thyroid medication but I still need help waking up physically and mentally.

My strategy for conquering my caffeine addiction:  I understand that if a person get's enough magnesium in their diet they no longer crave caffeine.  I've also noticed, in the past, if I juice kale, lemon and apples together I rise above the craving.  I need to adopt a very healthy way of eating.

I'm also addicted to the internet; however, I use it to "pick up pennies" so I justify that addiction.

What about you?  What are you addicted to?  Do you have a strategy for conquering that addiction or are you okay with  it?

Have a great day!

I have the same problem with caffeine. I love pepsi. You know, come to think about it it may not even be the caffeine but the sugar. It's so sweet and I love the taste.

Some of my addictions are diet coke because it is a pick me up during the day and I can't stay off the internet for a day but I earn my money online so that kind of justifies the time I spend on the computer.

I personally don't have any addictions, but I think in something like these said, it would be slowing weaning yourself off of it until it becomes non existent!

I have a caffeine addiction too, but while I was pregnant I didn't drink anything with caffeine in it. All it took was willpower and thinking about what was best for my baby.

Im addicted to sugar. I'm trying to cut back on it a lot so that I can hopefully eventually control it better. Addictions are tough.
