Oh, I am definitely a dog person.  Cats can be lovely but I wouldn't want anything in the house that scratchs his litter then jumps on the countertop that I fix food on! Yuk!! and believe me, every one's cats jumps on the counter whether they believe it or not.

I agree completely.  I have an aunt that has 11 cats and she swears that she has trained every single one of them and they never get on her counters or tables.  I keep telling her she would be surprised to see just how well that training has taken hold when she's not at home, in another room or asleep.  She won't believe for a second that any of her cats want to get on the counters or will get on them because they are so well trained.  I'm positive all 11 of those cats go wherever they please when she isn't looking.  It's a cats nature.

I am a dog person, but cat have there uses too.  Cats are the best to protect your house of rodents and some of those cats are really something.  But I have a dog and she is the best, she protects the house and my daughters and I love her for that
