A hug, holding hands, kiss on the cheek or quick kiss on the lips is ok but other than that its like get a room... unacceptable, especially infront of children!

Holding hands, a quick hug, and an occasional light kiss are ok pdas to me in a day to day setting.

Homecomings for a returning soldier, for example, gives a bigger allowance for more intense PDAs.

Well, there are displays-of-'affection' & then there are displays-of-'lustful animals unfortunate to be clothed outdoors' :angel12:

I vote 'no'.  I think that it can wait until you get somewhere private like a car, home and if you really are feeling passionate...get a room! I think that a  lot of times these public displays of affection are nothing more then public display's of insecurity in the relationship.  I think that many people feel the need to mark their territory in public because they are not secure with themselves, their mate or the current status of their relationship.  Just as a dog marks it's territory by urinating on it so does the person that is insecure with their relationship except they grab a hold of their supposed loved one and let lose.  It is kind of primal, low-life.

My husband and I are married 22 years now and we will still hold hands when we are out sometimes but nothing really more than that. As a teen with my boyfriend when we would be out at the teen lounge with the strobes and all going yeah we did kiss, but I told them all straight out that I wouldn't allow anything else out in public. I also wouldn't let them put a `hicky' on me in plain sight. I still don't allow my husband to. I believe what goes on in the bedroom should stay in the bedroom. And we are trying to teach my 19 year old the same thing. That if she lets her boyfriend put a hicky on plain sight on her she is going have people talk about her.

I don't think the PDA's they're talking about are the 'displays of true affection' they talk about in old-time romance-stories, but rather the kind from the room in the back of the video-store which you need to be an adult to shop in. :P
