Judas Iscariot Was an Apostle Too?
« on: January 10, 2014, 04:18:12 am »
... maybe he wasn't an apostle after Jesus died & rose & rose again, but this passage lists him as 'just another apostle,' just like Peter, James, John & the other Judas (Jude).

It's kinda like Lucifer the Archangel---Sure, the being-in-question BECAME Satan; but when Satan ceases to exist, Lucifer will be right there again ... right up there with Gabriel & Michael & the whole Heavenly Host!

Amen? (I'm saying this heavily-based in prison-ministry ... not that I've ever BEEN in prison--not even to visit--but St. Patrick was a British prisoner! And one of my favorite congregations is the one bussed into Gospel Celebration Fellowship (Oklahoma City) FROM prisons!)

Prison ministries are usually pretty good, selfless Christians ministering to those who need it. (but don't we all)
Also regarding born again prisoners..... those who have more to be forgiven for....will be more grateful.

But I disagree about Lucifer being an Archangel.  Satan is Lucifer.  He may stop to exist in Judas but he stays around till the very end when God prevails and wins the ultimate battle.

Thanks for the good topic!

I disagree. If Satan were Lucifer, he ... wouldn't be Satan anymore. No, the entity in question was Lucifer before, but now is Satan ... to our 'temporal' minds, it sounds like I 'disagreed with myself'; but a very-important fact there is IT STOPPED BEING LUCIFER WHEN IT BECAME SATAN.

That truth might reveal some 'secrets' about God if we delve into WHY it would choose to be Satan rather than Lucifer, but the point is that--as an archangel--it was never evil ... it was only evil when it decided to disobey.

Judas Iscariot was one of the Apostles and the treasurer of the twelve.
