It is the Goldenrod in KY.  I am highly allergic to it!  It blooms out in the fall.  I don't consider it a flower, I call it a weed.

Minnesota's state flower is the Showy Lady's Slipper...a cute little pink blossom.

I had no idea what my state (NJ) flower was, so I had to look it up. It is the Common Meadow Violet (Viola Sororia), but has only been that since 1971. Thanks for getting me to look!

Illinois' state flower is the violet. I had to look mine up too because I forget.

It doesn't come up too much in normal conversation, you know.
