So the Bible Is the Story of the Battle between Evil & "Single?"

Lord Jesus lays it out like this:

^22B if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light. ²³ But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness.

That's what He says in the KJV. Looking at BibleGateway's concordance on 6:23 (sad that BG only has concordances on one-verse-at-a-time, yeah?), I get the feeling that an 'evil' eye is one that is set in seeing only one thing as good---everything else being evil.

The verse before that uses 'single' from the notion of 'one, complete, whole, healthy.' Remember, Eve was made from a part that was taken out of Adam---making him "un-whole" without her, which is the way I understand most successful marriages work (each party considering the other party its 'better half').

So the 'worthy' married-couple is "single together"---two parts of a machine that does not exist unless both of them are there (like a lamp & a lightbulb).
