puerto rico vacation

I am planning a vacation cruise out of Puerto Rico for my 15th wedding anniversary. We are planning to arrive a few days before the  cruise to explore Puerto Rico...San Juan. We have never been there so, can anyone recommend places or things I should put on my to do or to see list?

It has been thirty eight years since I went to Puerto Rico but I know that the old Fort is still there and was an amazing hike with tremendous views and hundreds of iguanas. My mother had a cousin who died at age twenty eight at the time. Mom got ripped with my Aunt, decided to get a divorce and took the kids myself/sister to San Juan, Puerto Rico. One of the most memorable vacations of my life. Mom/Aunt snuck me into a casino, I saw dozens of waterfalls and was somewhat scarred by seeing a *bleep* fight. There are some scary areas in that area...a lot of poverty back in the day.  Surfing was great! Congratulations and good luck!

I was there in August.  I stayed in a great hotel called Water Beach Club.  I didn't get a chance to go but the next time I go I will definitely visit the bio bay.  Go at night and and the fish light up the bay.  I was only there about 3-4 days so I didn't go around the whole island.  I went on a rainforest tour and that was ok.
