Homeless people need homes until then they will always be looked upon as 2nd class citizens.

As a standard I do not. There is a large problem with imposters where I live. Many of those begging are not truely homeless, they choose to dress and act that way while begging. They they walk a few blocks, get in their car and go home. I also know that many choose to live this way no matter what assistance is offered them (I used to take care of them in the hospital and had many a conversation). I listen to my gut and if I feel drawn to give, I will but otherwise NO!

I rarely carry any cash anyway, so I don't.  That being said, I always give them any food that I have or offer to get them something.  The way I look at, some of these people are responsible for being there through drugs, alcohol, whatever, but at the same time some of those people got there because of bad circumstances.  You never know what's going to happen to you in the future, so you should be good to others in the hopes that people will be good to you when you need it.
