You have Got to be kidding me
« on: September 12, 2013, 10:37:21 am »
What in the world are people thinking?
I know when you grow up your parents tell you how to take care of a kid..
I even know babysitter jobs are available...
It's only common sence... That when a child is above age..
They should know all the basics...
That means... Potty Trained.. No bottles No Binkys.. They are indepenant..
But the sad reality is...
Some parents are so lazy.. their kids still in diapers and bottles at ages  5 and 6..
LOL.. what??????
You got to be kidding me right?
::)
Idk... What are your thoughts and opinions?

It's according to the kid. I have two friends who have autistic children. One is 9, and has been out of diapers for about 3 years. The other is 6, still in diapers and has just now started using a sippy cup.

But to look at either one of these children, you wouldn't know they were autistic.

Sometimes what you think you see is not what it looks like.

LOL some of you I get where you are coming from but I originally made this post because someone we knew just now is potty training her son which is unheard of at 7. He has no illness or anything she is just lazy. He can't even go to school because of this. He also still is allowed to have his binky. The post was not meant to be crude I was just in utter shock.

there just has to something wrong with that child if at the age of 7 he has not figured out the use of the toilet on his own! Unless he has been kept in a cage and never exposed to anyone outside his not to swift mother!

Seriously! ???

There's obviously more to the story. A lazy person wouldn't change diapers for 7 years instead of potty training. That really just goes against all logic.

I have a couple of thoughts on this.  Is this an only child?  Sometimes parents are reluctant to let their children go/grow up especially when they are an only child.  I was listening to the radio yesterday and the program was devoted to children who were still breast feeding past age seven!  The women in support of it said that studies have shown that breast feeding creates a much more secure child. I believe there is something to those studies but weaning a child off after six months to a year seems to be more in line.  I can only imagine the misconceptions that the late feeding child will have through out their life. As I have said before...you should have to get a license to be a parent.

If the child has no severe physical, mental, or emotional problems, he should be toilet trained by that age, if not by a parent, then just by observation and self-training.  I had problems potty training my daughter when she was about 2 1/2.  Before that, she had refused for months; I think it was because my mother-in-law tried to potty train her when my daughter was too young when mother-in-law was keeping her.  I worked for a few months after my daughter was born and then stopped to stay home with her.  One day I was asked by a mother to watch her daughter for a day because her sitter was sick.  Her daughter was about 1 1/2 to 2.  She was potty trained.  My daughter was completely potty trained in one day just watching this child go to the bathroom by herself.  As for a binky, I think that shows emotional problems.  I think I would check with someone in authority to see if this is a form of child abuse.

My cousin's kid was in diapers when he started school.  When he wanted it changed he would take a diaper to them and give it to them.  The only reason he was potty trained is they told him he could not come to school unless he could go to the bathroom himself.  My thoughts...Totally pathetic.

It also irritates me to see kids at Walmart as old as 5 or more with a pacipher in their mouth.  And yeah that P word is spelled wrong.  But you get the idea. lol

the drinking out of the bottle part is just pushing it as "ridiculous." have you seen those one gatorades that come in that one bottle? Have you seen the smart water bottles? You see, people do not have time to drink all the liquids all at once cup users. It is more convenient to store some for later.

I think that the potty training is hard if it's a boy but most kids if they are trained can be potty trained by 5 (unless there's health problems) As far as having binkys and bottles... What!?! Those will rot their teeth! Get them away from your kid as soon as they will give them up and they should never sleep with them it gives them cavities and crooked teeth.

I raised 3 kids and knew a bunch of their friends ,I never heard of kids that old in diapers or given bottles. They will grow up fast and be teased by other kids. Also never heard of parents willing to diaper kids that old or pay for the diapers, wow it's to weird.
