Quick opinion question

I believe that anyone that wants to do someting has the ability to achieve it, it has to do with your mindset and applying yourself, and i definately dont believe in the steriotypical b/s that a woman cant do a certain job because its a mans job, or vice versa.

Why not? unless it's a job that needs a man's equipment.

  Funny you should ask that.  I am a female Contractor and have been for 25 years.  I'm not a feminist, it's a family business and I have sawdust in my veins.  My father told me I could do this and still act like a lady.  Not always easy, but I am from a small town, and every knows me.  I have a good reputation for building good homes.

I agree, it shouldn't matter what sex you are, but I'm sure there are plenty of employers who discriminate due to to sex. If a man and woman both competed fro a typical construction or roadwork job, which would win?

There are plenty of jobs that are dominated by one sex or the other for pretty good reasons, but there's an exception to every rule.  I don't see any reason why someone cannot or should not pursue any particular career, as long as it's what they want to do.
