Mystery of the missing posts!!

The other day I had 2003 posts here in the forum and suddenly my count is less than that (now 2000 including this one).  Has anyone had this happen? This is a first for me in the almost 3 years I've been here....weird!!

That's interesting.  It's hard to imagine how that could happen.  Actually I've never kept up with how many posts I've accumulated, just how many for the month.  But if I were near a milestone like 2000!!!, I'm sure I would pay more attention.  Actually, I had to go just now to see how many posts I've written.  And I also discovered that I've received some "thanks".  I was not even aware of that stat.  IceKittyNM, maybe your missing posts will reappear just as mysteriously as they went AWOL!  I hope so.

Hmmm. have never paid attention to the post counts, as I am only trying to achieve that wonderful bonus... do the counts really matter?  To me, they are just numbers...  if there is a reason to pay attention, then perhaps, I would... have not discovered that reason just yet though, perhaps I will continue to read and learn... appreciate the info thus far... thanks for sharing...

Well, I do kinda watch the number, just for fun is all, so no, it doesn't really matter. Just thought it was weird that it had dropped. The only thing I can think of is that perhaps someone deleted a topic that I had posted in, so my posts went "poof", and that's ok....no big deal.

I never really paid that much attention to the post count!  It is puzzling....

Some of the posts that were previously counted do not count any more because they are not really considered contributory posts.

That's odd.  I've seen posts removed if they violate FC policy like the parties were flaming, but I'm sure that they would have told you if that happened. Does FC archive older posts and maybe they fall out of the count that way?

Some of the posts that were previously counted do not count any more because they are not really considered contributory posts. 

I'm fairly certain that's not the case. I don't believe that FC would have the time to go through everyone's posts making deletions just because they may not be contributory. As I mentioned before, the only thing I can think of is that a thread I may have posted in somewhere may have been removed by the original poster.
