sponges
« on: May 23, 2013, 08:38:00 am »
I stopped buying sponges when there were black spots on a couple of  new sponges in the pack of four I bought.
That turned me off; I won't buy sponges anymore.

My mom used to use sponges but stopped because they just get gross so quick.  She started putting them in the dish washer in between but sponges are just gross, never saw any that came out of the package gross though that is scary. Now that I live on my own I would never use sponges.

Lysol wipes are the way to go or rags that you can throw in the wash.

Yeah, I can't do sponges. I hate wasting paper towels, but reusing sponges just seems so...dirty.

I would have asked for my money back.
I still use  sponges but never for long period of time.

Sponges can collect germs quickly, so my germ-conscious daughter and niece say.

Never have liked sponges much, use them for big jobs going to finish that day and then toss.

I don't use sponges for cleaning.  I like the Lysol wipes, as well.

I've never had that happen. I personally only use a sponge once and only use them for things like cleaning the bathtub. Everything else is Clorox wipes or paper towel and spray cleaner. Throw that stuff away!!

Sponges and wash cloths and other device to clean dishes hold bacteria on them I don't know if you have a dollar tree near by but I strongly recommend the through a way wash rags they come in a verity of colors such has pink, blue, and green and I think they are nine in package.  This would lessen the bacteria growing in your rage or sponges of course if you buy sturdy sponges you can throw it into the laundry with dry bleach or into white and bleach.

I too do not like sponges, but my mother in law does.
So I keep a sponge in the sink.  It stays in a dish of antibacterial dish soap and is thrown out every week.  I do not use it.. and she doesn't really go in the kitchen much.. ( she will be 89 next week) But... it is just one of those things that she has to have.
Either way.. it is thrown out weekly.

**you can also microwave the sponge with soapy antibacterial soap.
2 things will happen... sponge clean... microwave EASY to clean

For me... it is Lysol Wipes!!!!
Thank you Costco!!

Happy Earnings
