My Brother-in-law - the #1 jerk!
« on: May 16, 2013, 05:24:32 am »
My brother-in-law has to be the #1 jerk of all time.  He is a self-centered, egotistical person who has always placed his wants before the needs of his wife and three children.  My niece has worked to put herself through college for the past five years (and will be paying off student loans for many years to come).  She graduated with very high honors from Ohio State University last weekend.  My brother-in-law refused to go watch his oldest daughter graduate because President Obama was the guest speaker.  She is getting married to her high school sweetheart on June 8th.  She and the groom-to-be (and his parents) are paying for the wedding.  Jerk #1 has now declared he is not going to the wedding because he does not like the bride's maids' dresses and that she will have to walk herself down the aisle.  The sales clerks really played up to him when they went to order the bride's dress ~ I guess they thought he was paying for the $2,300 dress.  He didn't get any attention when they went to pick out the bride's maids' dresses and got mad and sat in the truck.  I know my niece is upset that Jerk #1 is acting this way but everyone else in the family is kind of glad he won't be there to try to be the center of attention.  The mother, sisters and I are all pitching in to try to make this the most memorable event for my niece.
Have a wonderful day!

How ridiculous! If it was my wedding I would prefer that he not be there. I cannot stand people who constantly try to be the center of attention. Everything has to be about that person, even when it is someone else's big day. I could not imagine not going to one of my children's graduations. He sounds like a complete ***hole and I don't know how your sister could even put up with him. I would have left him a long time ago. Has someone given him a piece of their mind? I would have.....he sounds like a big baby to me and I'm sorry that his family has to deal with that.

He is who he is and he's not going to change.  Just ignore his antics.  He will learn one day but then it will be too late oh well.  Karma will get him.

He sounds like a holy mess.  He sounds as if he is not a part of it, he loses control and getting pissed about things he can't control is immature.  You live to be a part of your children's accomplishments.  So what if President Obama was the guest speaker at your niece's graduation?  So what about him not liking the bridesmaids' dresses.  While your niece is upset, I am with the rest of you; I would be happy too; he won't be there to ruin the happiest day of her life.  My husband wants to be in control, but he knows how far to step.  He knows when I am pissed at him and goes all out to make up to me.  Your brother in-law is an A-1 jerk and he couldn't make that up to your niece in this many millenniums.  Since your niece and her future in-laws are paying for the wedding, here is a bigger question:  He doesn't plan to help with the wedding? :BangHead: :angry7: ;D

Be glad that he won't be there. this is a special, memorable day and I'm sure no one would want to remember him acting stupid. One day, hopefully he'll wake up.
