I think the people in that state should decide.  Here they took away video gambling because they said too many people were addicted so it was causing harm.  Then about a year later they turned around and put in the lottery.  So I guess it really wasn't about people having gambling problems, it was more about the state seeing a way to cut out the entrepreneurs and give themselves a monopoly on gambling.

I think it should be allowed everyplace.  It's up to the individual person if they are going to gamble or not.  We have it here, and I only go to the casino about twice a year, so I don't think it necessarily promotes gambling.   If you are going to gamble you will, if not in casinos then on horse races, bingo, etc.

I work in a casino, and sometimes it's very sad seeing people gamble away every penny they have.

While I understand it is something people get addicted to, the same is true for alcohol and sex. People become alcoholics or sex addicts, but we have not made either of those illegal. Gambling is just another thing that if done responsibly, can be fun. Unfortunately, some people have addictive personalities and cannot stop once they've started.
I don't think the masses should be punished for other people's actions.

I see no reason they shouldn't. It people are going to get addicted usually they already are. But like when we go we only spend as much as what a movie and dinner might have cost and no more and we don't do it but about2-3 times a year. We don't party or drink and usually never go to a movie. So a few times a year is ok.
