It depends on which type of dog your family is suited for. Do you want a big dog or a small dog? Is there plenty of room where you live for a bigger dog to run and play? Is everyone willing to share in the responsibilty of owning a dog? You could also go online and research different breeds to see which one has the best temperment and what level of care they woul need. We have a lab mix and chihuaha. Both are very good dogs. Good luck on choosing the right dog for your family.

I agree with getting a Golden Retriever. They are remarkably sweet dogs that fit well with the family. Of course, everyone should conduct their research first on the breed they are considering that will fit their lifestyle.

And most important of all…..

PLEASE DO NOT BUY and CONSIDER ADOPTING A DOG FROM THE SHELTER! There are too many homeless dogs that are in desperate need of a loving home. Too many are put to sleep because there are not enough people to adopt them.
