ADHD

pm. Then in the morning getting ready foMy 7 year old grandson has ADHD We have tried several meds and he does pretty good during the day but about 3pm he is such a handful that I am completly worn out by the time I can finally get him to bed around 9pm. Then in the morning it is another battle to get him ready for school. I am worn out. I have COPD and not in good health. We are going to try a theropist when we can get an appt. Does anybody else have a ADHD child and have any suggestions. I am not looking forward to school being out. I love him so much and hate the way he feels. I just want him to be happy and healthy.

many years ago my son was diagnosed with this and I did not like the way the meds affected him I took him off the meds and kept him busy with two to three projects that he could work on so to say at the same time now my granddaughter has it and the same thing works with her for example inside the house I let her paint cut and color she is 7 there is a large age appropriate puzzle in the corner she has a large selection of short dvds  I also have jobs for her that she enjoys doing for money of course she like emptying the dishwasher vacuuming and sweeping the floor  for my son and now with her three choices are about right at this age for them  I also stock up on arts and crafts projects as I find them on sale she likes beading jewelry  and working with flower arrangements and simple sewing for this summer I picked up a make a bird house kit on sale for her to do I do agree with you it is getting harder to keep up with her busyness and she talks 90 to nothing lol I also teach her verbal math problems and have her spell words for me  I hope some of these ideas help you
