Crying About His Life
« on: April 18, 2013, 12:34:49 pm »
Old Man On A Bench An old man of ninety was sitting on a park bench crying. A policeman noticed this and asked him why he was crying.
"Well," says the old fellow, "I just got married to a twenty-five year old woman. Every morning she makes me a wonderful breakfast, and we have then have fun together laughing and relaxing. In the afternoon she makes me a wonderful lunch and then we make fun together laughing and relaxing again. At dinner time she makes me a wonderful supper and then we relax more and enjoy ourselves."
The policeman looks at the old man and says, "You shouldn't be crying! You should be the happiest man in the world!" :BangHead:

If he is lucky enough to have a 25 year-old wife at the age of 90, he shouldn't be crying.  Maybe something else is wrong.

Were they tears of joy or is the punch line missing?

Maybe he is crying and wishing that he would have more time with his new found love.

I think in this story, the writer tries to say that in this human dont have contentment in their life. So we should be thankful whatever we have in our life.

Tragic. Or maybe just a tragedy waiting to happen?

Maybe his is thinking that his wife doesn't really luv for him but only married him for his money in which she'll inherit at his demise.

If I was him, I'd think of the situation in a more positive way. I mean who wouldn't want a wife that takes care of him hand & foot.Since she's his care taker, he doesn't have to go to a rehab/retirement home & live w/strangers. I'd be happy in my last days to have someone like that.

There have been cases in which an elderly person marries a younger person & after the wedding, behind close doors,  is abused & neglected by the money hungry greedy spouse.  The old man should just count his lucky stars he found a good person!

I don't get the story as told and am further confused as to why it was posted in the Payments subforum.  So is the young wife a golddigger?

Not sure why the OP left off the punchline, maybe to generate some discussion?
Hate to be the spoiler, but here it is:

The policeman looks at the old man and says, "You shouldn't be crying! You should be the happiest man in the world!"

So the old man says, "I know! I'm crying because I don't remember where I live!"
