Who writes blogs?

Let's say you write a blog or have a website what's the best advertising methods you use to get people to go to it?  Free advertising forums?  Just a curious question because I've been thinking about starting a blog website and don't want to do it if I have no clue as to how to get traffic to come to it.  I don't want to have to pay for an Internet Marketing e-book either with faith in the information helping me because I've done it before and the information was very "general" to say the least.  I would rather be given examples of marketing techniques

Concentrate on writing good content, and people searching for that subject matter on Google will find YOU.

The best strategy is to pick a domain name that fits and get it listed on Google. For example if you search for US Click Ads you will find mine.
