Crazy I just hope it doesn't go on for the whole pregnancy i'm tired of hearing about it already. She's only having a baby.

I understand the media reaction, although I don't personally think it is important news. Many people are fascinated with royalty and other eras, that is why these news have gone so overboard. It is the same reason why movies based on royalty and earlier times get so much Academy Awards attention. It probably is in people's subconscious.

I think it is a sign of our cultures preoccupation with fame and wealth. The royal family are public figures and I would have expected an announcement and then congrats from people and then wait until baby is born, but wow this level is crazy. I am happy for them just like you would be for any young couple having a child, but don't really need to know all the details.

I used to follow the royal family years ago and back then news like this would have really been extremely interesting. But not now. All I can say is congratulations to the family and I think it would be interesting if it's a girl since the primogeniture rule has been changed, but the hype situation I guess comes since they are royals and real celebrities in that country. I can only imagine the hype that would come if Michelle Obama were pregnant (before anyone says it I know she getting older, I'm just giving her as an example) since she is the first lady.

I really don't watch much tv anymore. So the celebrity hype machine bypasses me a lot, which helps for topics I'm not interested in.
