Yes, check out Tim Lahaye's End Series of Books... Edge of Apocalypse, Thunder of Heaven, and Brink of Chaos.  Great apocalyptic Christian fiction.  And his Joshua Jordan character is very well-written.

Recently read most of Michael Chabon's books.  If you haven't ever read him, you really should.  You may want to have a dictionary handy, but it will absolutely be worth it.  If I had to pick one, I would say read "The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay."

Have just started, "Gone Girl" by Gillian Flynn.  Promises to be a good read.

I'm a big Stephen King fan, so anything written by him is great in my opinion.  My favorite novel by him is "The Stand," which is not a new book (nor a short one - over 1,500 pages), but a great one, nonetheless.  I also enjoy his short stories, many of which could be found in his published works entitled, "Skeleton Crew," "Everything's Eventual," and "Night Shift" to name a few.

If you enjoy horror and the macabre, you'll love Stephen King.

I have not read any good books lately.  I need some advice on a good series to get involved with.
