Start accepting unverified Paypal accounts.

I was excited about the site when I joined yesterday and told a few of my friends about it and they signed up to. Then I found out you only pay people if their PayPal account is "verified". My husband and I have been using our paypal account for over 5 years now and have never "verified" it. I am 26 and I have never ever used a bank account because of all the horror stories. That is my personal choice to not use a bank. Now I feel like I'm less of a person because my PayPal account isn't "verified".  It really has me feeling like this is not fair. So I just wanted to let you know that I'm pretty upset about it. It's not like you would be losing anything, I don't have to pay you from my paypal account, your the one sending me money so I don't know how it will hurt you if my account is not verified.  Blah!

It's a rule we have in place to fight fraud.  Anyone can make an unverified PayPal account in any name, but the verification process links you to a bank account - and banks are required by law to collect your social security number and run a check on you.  By requiring verified PayPal accounts, FusionCash gets to, in effect, inherit the benefits of that SSN check since only users who have passed it successfully can receive payment that way.

I wont suggest direct deposit since you don't have a bank account but you can take the check in person to any Bank of America, or to a check cashing location, and get it cashed.

We wont be changing this policy any time soon, because its one of the things that protects our liability and allows us to have our high payouts.  I hope you don't take it so personally, though, since its just a business decision.

I think that is a great decision because people can just make a paypal account under anyones name it is fairly easy..They have to cover there butts just like the rest of us.

Ironically, I also hear of Paypal horror stories.

Paypal doesn't abide by the same laws and policies that banks do, as they are their own "entity" so to speak.

it does make sense that paypal verifies you through
a bank account, but its a little unfair that its the ONLY
option to getting verified...

i totally see where you're coming from, with choosing
to not have a bank account. but not even a savings account?
you could open up something like that, and depending on
what bank, you wouldn't have to ever use it.
it would just be there for cases like this, when you need one.

(my job AND my bank are always pushing me to get direct deposit.
and that's just something i'll never do.
i'm sure one day, it won't even be optional!)

You can also verify your PayPal account by applying for & getting approved for a PayPal credit card.  But that involves giving out your SSN and other identifiables which serve the same purpose as bank verification.

i like the system on verified paypal accounts . It is not that hard to get it approved to be verified ... just do it once thats all it takes
