I believe they absolutely made the right call in that situation.  Kozma got back there and turn around and called the ball.  At that point it became an infield fly.  It does not have to be in the infield, the infield fly ruled is used all of the time when the popup is on the outfield grass.  I think they made the right call and I think Joe Torre did the right thing by denying the protest immediately before play was resumed.  It was a judgement call and that is something that would never be overturned in a protest.

  That  play yesterday was crazy!!! how can you call the infield fly rule on a ball hit all the way to left field  :dontknow:

I think it was called because there was a left field umpire. Usually there are just umpires in the infield and they would have thought it was deep enough and not called the infield fly. The left field umpire saw it in front of him and called it an infield fly. I don't think it was a bad call but it didn't need to be called in this situation.
