I remember where I was in January 2000.  I started out visiting my aunt in Cleveland, so I was at her house.  I then went home to Chicago and spent the next 7 months with my ex acting a jerk.  I left him in August 2000.  It was memorable because I was miserable as long as I was with him and when I left him, I felt rejuvenated for the first time in 20 years.  So I call 2000 my "year of freeing myself from being miserable and unhappy."  People said that I smiled for the first time since they saw me without him.

I was here in Southern California, it is hard to believe that 2000 was THIRTEEN YEARS AGO already.

I remember how "futuristic" I thought 2000 sounded at the time. My parents and I were at home laughing about that.

I was at home here in NY. I fell asleep way before midnight, I was so tired that day from work. I remember I woke up around 2:00 in the morning. I was glad nothing happened from the y2k scare. Then I was mad because I slept through the one important New Years Eve.

I was home that new years eve. I was lit and having lots of fun. I never thought anything would happen. And I was right.

I was at home recording the 24hour 2000 celebrations around the world - that was completely awesome (still need to transfer that footage to DVD).  Wish they did that more often as I found it fascinating - particularly the European celebrations (London, Paris) in contrast to a small village in Africa which was pitch black except for the camera's flood light as everyone there was asleep and could care less about the new year as it was just another day for them.

I was also on call as I worked (and still do) in IT, so we had to be near our computers in case the "bug" struck to fix stuff.  Nothing happened...

I don’t remember what I done. It’s too far back to remember. I know I worked hard for a fast-paced E-Commerce Company that was rapidly growing and I also worked on other temporary assignments with an employment agency.

Our first born son was 4 years old and we decided to finally make it official by getting married after being together for 10 years. We got married on February 1,2000. We had just started our contracting business so I was doing a lot of studying about how to keep the books and learning how to write up contracts and stuff.

I was only 14 at the time, so I was still at home, celebrating the New Year with my family. I do remember thinking "oh my God, is it going to be crazy like they said, with computers crashing and everything?". But at we all know, it didn't turn out anything like what they said, thank God for that!
