Generally the product that more people are going to buy is going to cost less because they'll sale more of it to make up for the cost. Less vehicles use diesel so it costs . It's all about supply and demand

Actually it is the exact opposite.

It's called profit. They can make more off of disel then they can off gas. Cost less too make and truckers have to have it to live. You are talking about 300 too 400 gallons to fill up on the big rigs. Then you have the farmers with their big tractors. It takes a lot there. Then we get down to personal trucks and cars. We have a 3/4 ton diesel truck for hard work, like getting the wood in for the winter. We can't afford to use it for personal use. Of course with the cost of disel and gas the cost of moving the food and other goods across the country drives up the cost for consumers. Oh yeah then we have the trains, they hold a lot of disel. But then look at the loads they pull.Still there goes the cost again.  I have a brother (farmer) another (truck driver) and a nephew (train engineer) so i hear about it all the time.

Used to be that diesel was about 20% less than gas. Then you all went out and got diesel trucks so the demand raised the price. Sorry.
