Printable Coupon Question
« on: August 24, 2012, 10:07:11 am »
I have a question that hopefully someone who uses a lot of printable coupons can answer. I usually use My points to print coupons, so that I can get points when I use them. The trouble I have is, sometimes the coupons don't scan when I get to the register, so the cashier just puts it in as a "vendor coupon." Does this mean that I won't get credit for using that coupon? Also, does anyone else have trouble with printable coupons getting accepted? Thanks.

Yeah, you won't get credit for those ones because they are not actually using the codes from the coupon. They are just using a generic $1 off or however much just to get you your discount at the store. What kind of printer ink do you use? I bought some generic ink because it was so cheap, but barely any of my coupons would scan because the lines in the bar code weren't perfectly clear. Now I use a kodak printer with the kodak ink and I haven't had a problem with the coupons not scanning any more.

I print lots of coupons; never had a problem with any of them scanning, even when printing on fast draft to save ink.  However, if it would not scan you probably won't get credit through your points program but you still saved money.

I use a Canon printer, with official canon ink, since it won't accept re-manufactured ink. The printing looks OK, I didn't notice any obvious flaws.
