Do them at home or at the park: Old fashioned calisthenics! And yes!... walking is the very best every day exercise.

I have done Insanity and P90x, but they aren't for beginners.  Using your own body weight is perfect:  push ups, planks, chin ups, etc.  Also get a set of resistance bands or dumbells and lift weights.  That  will fire up your metabolism and make your muscles look sexy!  I love to lift weights.  I'm also training to run a marathon, but that's not necessary to get fit.   ;)

Do push ups, sit ups, jumping jacks, and jogging or running will give you a full body workout without the cost of a gym membership.

I'm going to look into all these ideas. Every little thought helps. I will check out our YMCA and see if they have a cheaper program.

No one needs any equipment. Good old pushups, crunches, wall squats, climbing stairs, running/walking, and planks will all do great things for you. Yoga will help too, and you don't NEED a mat or expensive clothes to do yoga. If you want to add weight for resistance, find things around the house - a gallon of milk, cans of veggies, etc.

I have equipment and a treadmill, but 70% of my routine is "old school" stuff. Good luck!

Couldn't have said it better myself.

Another trick is if you have furniture movers/sliders - use those to make lunges, rollouts, mountain climbers, planks, etc... more challenging.

Also, you just need to piece together maybe a couple groups of 2 or 3 exercises to make your own circuit.  Then change up the combinations every couple weeks so your body doesn't get "bored" or used to a routine - making the exercise less effective.

The stairs are the best for your lower half /i go up and down them at lest 20 times a day doing stuff around the house/lots of fruit and veggies.

I really want to focus more on my stomach. Also tone it up. I've done some checking on things today and will continue to. Thanks everyone.
