Siamese cat and feet
« on: June 07, 2012, 07:14:51 pm »
My Siamese cat, Cara is a year old. We got her from a breeder in PA so you can imagine I drove a long way to get her. I paid a good chunk of money for her and I love her to death. I got sick in October and was hospitalized and went through a surgery. My husband thought we should return her but even he had to admit he loved her by then. We got her in July.

I am going to stop this story here and point out years a go, I lasted one semester through Veterinary Science before realizing my "young family" had to come first and later I became a Vet tech until I had more kids, and now I run a pet rescue from home so animals are a big part of my life. And I am not new to Siamese I had another one Samantha though Sammy was a lavender point and what I wanted. I do not know why the breeders website  drawn me to Cara.

Okay back to the story Cara loves feet. She steals hubby's socks and she has picked up the horrible habit of biting my toes so bad that she bites the blood out of them. I can not get her to stop. She will sink her claws in and draw them to her mouth.  :(  I have never seen anything like it.

Other than that she is a great cat who we had since kittenhood she is a regular seal point Siamese. She came with her name. She loves to swim and play fetch and the entire family loves her, but because of some health issues with some swelling in my legs and foot I considered returning her to the breeder. (They had a policy that if you could not keep the kitten/cat it must be returned to them  I signed the contract)

I was informed since I had her altered they wont take her back and her name isn't Cara (like Care bear) what I have been calling her usually Care Bear. But her name is Car Ah. Whoops the breeder went on and on about misappropriation. I could have changed her name at any point, she was certainly young enough too. We had vet bills out the ear (More than the $$$ I paid for her cause she was still nursing and got sick) Most people do change the name and she adjusted fine to being our little Care-Bear Cara. Anyway I am grateful she doesn't qualify to be returned because we love her so much and I am not sure what I was thinking

But any ideas on how to get her to stop chewing my feet to shreds?

Our cat isn't Siamese, but he sure loves to chase our feet and he likes biting our feet and toes too.

I think that cats don't realize they're actually hurting their peeps sometimes.  Just overly playful and it gets rough at times.
