I love watermelon and especially the diamond watermelons but we can't get them up here in Oregon.

My favorite fruit; wish it were available year round at reasonable prices with the same flavor as summer.  Also like red grapes and in the summer freeze them for a cold treat.

I admit seedless watermelon is the best.  Just knock on it and listen for the most hollow sound.  That will be the best one!

I love watermelon.  I always think of when I was growing up;  two incidents with my Grandfather (deceased several years ago).  One was when he would take us grandkids riding up in the mountains with him.  He had a special mountain stream we would stop at to "ramble around"  He would place a big ole watermelon in the mountain stream and it would get so very cold while we played and was so yummy to eat.  Another thought is when we were kids and would eat watermelon on his back porch and spit the seeds into the yard.  Occassionaly a watermelon vine would sprout up in his yard but I honestly don't remember if any grew for us to eat.  Awww, those were the days.

My husband always says to drill a hole in the top of the watermelon and pour in vodka or other yummy drink then let it soak in and chill before eating it. Sounds good as long as it is label adult watermelon. :P

I really love watermelon; come to think of it, I love all fruits, especially in season.  I just had some wonderful strawberries.
