Boy, someone is sure bitter because others get something they need when their circumstances warrant help!  My husband, who is 79, who has worked hard all his life since he was a teenager, who worked while he put himself through graduate school, who served in the Korean war, who has paid taxes since he was a child growing up in poverty in New York, who continues to work because we can't afford not to and he needs to keep busy, who still has taxes taken out of his paycheck and social security even though he's 79, who is in a wheelchair due to spinal stenosis - has a SAFELINK phone.  Considering how many tax dollars he has contributed to this country for nearly seventy years of work, I'd say that's a small bit of payback.  The social security?  He paid in to it all those years, and is still getting deductions out of his paycheck.

I am more than happy that our tax dollars help this woman's sister out right now.  If I could choose where my tax dollars go - it would be for circumstances such as that.  I would not choose to have them fund war and violence, or an elected official's comfort.
End the suffering!  Get your cats - and all strays and ferals - spayed and neutered!

Couldn't have been put better! HERO member would be an accurate description  And here's to your father-who gave so much to his country, it can give back a little!

the JOEY guy really needs to hush it up!!!    :bs:  he's feeding all of us a bunch of   :bs:   i understand his point to a point, but he has taken this specific topic a bit too far.  the cell phone deal isn't much of nothing, but it helps women out there who don't have one to get one.  having a simple prepaid type phone to carry around with you in case of emergencies is important.  a landline isn't going to work on the road fella.  and in my town you can't find any pay phones.  and plus, what if you are too far from a phone, out in the middle of no where and your car breaks down, you don't want to take help from any tom, *bleep*, and harry, i mean joey, that we don't know.  using tax dollars for things like this are completely understandable.  it's all easy to say all that stuff that he's saying when your not in the situation.  we can all tell the type of person that joey is.  i would hate to be the women in his life, or man.

I don't even know what to say to JOEY. It is just sad. God loves us all no matter our circumstances. It is nice to hear all the other good hearted people who stuck-up for her sister on this thread. I feel that an apology is in order.

God loves us all no matter our circumstances.

Unless there isn't one, no matter what superstitious religious beliefs are held.

I feel that an apology is in order.

Will you be going first for posting this off topic religious comment or, are you implying that those who use the "free" cellphone service should apologize to those who are paying the telecom excise surcharges that fund it?
One can lead a horse to water however, if one holds the horse's head under, that horse will drown.

Yes thank you TO ALL who stuck up or gave your opinion without being rude, THIS is a great service for people in certain circumstances. I was just trying to be nice and say HEY great offer and this 'person' was ignorant and completely rude. I come from a family of police officers and a husband who was in the Army, I don't wanna hear his  :bs: cause that's all he's got. AND I don't need an apology from someone who thinks like that. I have a 4.0 in Criminal Justice-I could profile this guy in a heartbeat! So thanks to everyone and Ignore Joey- :bs: I didn't even tell my sister about this-she doesn't need to bother, but she'd approve of such wonderful people that would take the time to comment.
