I always go to the show replies to your posts link first when I get on the forum.

I posted to one the words games once or twice but am no longer interested.  Or sometimes a topic gets so off the rails that I don't want to follow it anymore.  Anybody know how to get those topics to stop showing in my replies to your posts?

It's a minor annoyance that I can live with, but why if I don't have too?

Ideas?

Go to your profile on the forum page. Then go over to you left, down to "Notification and Emails" and change the one you no longer want.

If the thread replies come to your e-mail, there's an option to stop watching that topic, ("Unsubscribe to this topic by clicking here: *topic link*").  Once that's clicked, you won't automatically be following that particular thread but, it's still available if you ever want to resume reading it.

One can lead a horse to water however, if one holds the horse's head under, that horse will drown.

that is good information to know, I have tried to have replies sent to me in the pas but maybe I have my notifications set wrong. I don't want all of them just a few once in a while when I am hoping for updated information about some offer or process that I don't fully understand and maybe have not found any other answers somewhere else in the forums. Thanks for sharing , that is how we all help each other out the most, share what we have learned and everyone benefits.

I don't think anyone answered what erinelise2 was actually asking about

It wasn't notifications/email notifications that she(he?) wants to stop.

It's the list of topics you find when you click on "Show new replies to your posts".

And I wondered the same thing more than once, and about the same types of topics (word games) too.

How come it won't play?

You are right, Duroz.  That was what I was asking.  When I followed the previous suggestions, they didn't solve the problem since I don't get email notifications.

Currently, there doesn't appear to be a way to 'ignore' entire threads, (like using FC's ignore button for individual posters).  One can "stop watching" a thread previously set to "watch", (which prevents them from showing in the "show new replies to your posts"), but, that's not what you were asking, as you say.
One can lead a horse to water however, if one holds the horse's head under, that horse will drown.
