AdBot video ad redirects?

Just wanted to see if anyone else was having this issue.  Ever since the AdBot in the forum started displaying video/animation ads, occasionally I'm being redirected off the forum.  I'm finding this very distracting and annoying.

I know it's not every video, just occasional ones.  I know I've encountered this behavior on other sites that run similar video/animation ads.

I know it's not a FC issue - it's the code embedded in the video ads.  I'm using the latest version of FF mostly.  Wanted to see if others were having this issue, and if so, bring it to FC's attention in case there is something they can do to suppress the redirects.

Do you mean that when you click on the AdBot offers you are being redirected or are you just randomly being redirected?

If you are clicking on them, I would assume a redirection would be normal as the bot is not advertising FC but other sites/products/etc. You can always open in a new tab or window so your FC window stays open too.

I think the adbot is distracting and I hate it! This whole site is about advertising and I feel we should have one place where we can be ad-free. I know that FC is here to make money but this adbot is not a good addition in my humble opinion. Lose the adbot!

Nope not clicking on them.  I simply open the forum page and as I'm reading the posts, the page redirects to some ad after being on the page about 15-30 seconds.  Typically when I'm right in the middle of reading someone's post.  Other than scrolling up and down, I'm not touching anything.

I've also experienced issues where the back button doesn't work when certain video ads were up - forcing me to use the menu forum links to get out.  Annoying when I'm on page 4 or 5 of the forum - having to start from the top again (losing my browsing place).

I just noticed it appears the video ads have been taken out for now.  Perhaps the FC team is investigating the issue.

The only thing I'm noticing now (past couple days) is getting some behind the scenes popup when I enter a forum topic, and sometimes on the daily email ad.  The page is blank (guessing whatever is popping up is being suppressed by my FF controls) - but this is new behavior.  Assuming it's related to certain ads as it's not occurring every time I enter, but haven't experience this until this week.

Kapeh12 - have you checked your computer for viruses/trojans and malware? It could be something going there.

I haven't any sort of trouble like that.  Sounds like a virus to me.

I like the AdBot.  I occasionallly click on the ads if something looks interesting to me.  It doesn't bother me at all that it's there.  It totally makes sense that FC would have it there and good for them having another vehicle to monetize the site.
