No, it doesn't and no, they don't.  Why would you assert such unsupportable claims?
One can lead a horse to water however, if one holds the horse's head under, that horse will drown.

@I stayed in on Friday, the 13th, didn't want 2 take a chance on bad luck happening!Well,it happened anyway
My big sis came in2 town & when I answered she screamed at me for being in my anti social mode. She wouldn't let me get 1 word in & hung up on me. Strangely, for a depressed person, I for once, felt so claim & cleared
minded, I felt like I've just tried to reason w/a baby having a temper tantrum. When I wouldn't respond to her verbal abuse, she hung up on me. Only negative thing that happened to me today. So,does it make us Friday13th believers Superstitious, borderline superstitious, or superStupidstitious lOl!  ;D  :peace:

From the story you related, you started out being superstitious, (staying in, just because of the date), and ended the day calm & clear, (nothing to attribute that to a superstition).  Big sisters can be just a big a pain as little sisters, (but, you don't have let them be one, as you discovered on your own).  A few Friday the 13ths ago, I wanted to verify a theory so, I picked up out black cat and stepped under a ladder.  Setting the cat down to walk in front of me, I opened an umbrella in the house and broke a small mirror.  Nothing bad happened that day for me and I felt relaxed and unconcerned all day long.

Friday the 13th is not a bad day for me.

People are a little whacky when you work in the services industry
but when you take them with a grain of salt it is actually pretty
comical to watch how their perception of Friday the 13th makes
them act.

Just another day. I love any number that has a 3 in it because to me it represents the trinity.

You know, I think a lot of those superstitions came about because mothers made them up to keep their kids out of danger. For example, a kid walking under a ladder could knock it over, hurting themselves. Maybe there was a mean black cat hanging around that might have had rabies. A kid could poke his eye out with the spokes on an umbrella, especially in close quarters in the house. And of course, the mother wouldn't want her mirror broken.

here we go again with this lord thing, when will you people stop pushing your beliefs on other people. I do not believe there is a supreme being dictating our lives, what are you going to do now that we are in the age of Aquarius and no more of the Pisces(JESUS fish) what is going to be the new GOD

Precisely.  No doubt these proselytizers have no conscious, (or unconscious?), awareness of how presumptuously-rude their religious proclamations are to others.
One can lead a horse to water however, if one holds the horse's head under, that horse will drown.

Your hypothesis has merit.  Conversely, religious superstitions have a high probability of stemming from ignorance, false attributions and faulty premises arises from 'faith', ('thunder comes from the thunder gods', 'the runes sang to Odin as he hung from a tree for nine days', 'sacrificing a man believed to be a god is ransom payment for "salvation" if one allows themselves to be possessed', etc.).
