Nope, there will always be drugs in america and elsewhere whether we like it or not. Its just like a disease that we will never find a cure for.

No matter what the government does, it seems like it's a never ending battle.

Well congress would never let that happen (as Obama can tell you, even though he actually had good ideas)
Also marijuana is less dangerous than cigarettes and alcohol, so if you have a problem with it, you should have a bigger problem with them.
The "war on drugs" is unnecessary because the actual use of drugs has decreased a lot since the twentieth century, although it is hard to believe because the media coverage on things like drugs and violent crime has increased by ~300%

As long as the borders are wide open it will keep coming in. Why can't the govt. use our military along the border? The border patrole can't do it bythemselves just not enough of them. I lived in a border town just 20 miles from the border and it is awful. If you were go up into the crossings  it looks like the dump. They just leave all their dirty clothes, waterjugs and filth every where. and anywhee from 50 to a few hundred everyday are picked up. and it is not just those from mexico but from all over the world. and at least a third are carring drugs.  This govt. does not care.
