"Andrew Jackson Beard invented the "Jenny Coupler" in 1897, a device which allowed train cars to hook themselves together when they are bumped into one another. The device saved the lives of many railroad workers, who originally had the dangerous job of hooking the moving cars together by hand."

Absolutly not because to do so would be to promote racism.

Well a lot of black history was removed from our history books (done by progressives/liberals) and there is much that seems to be unknown, even amongst the black community.  I don't opt for any special month to where I share or acknowledge American History any more than other months (except perhaps regarding wars).

To keep to the theme though as I interpret your meaning:

Joseph Rainey was the first African American to serve in the U.S. House of Representatives, the first African American to preside over the House of Representatives (April, 1874).
There are only 10 types of people in the world:  those who understand binary, and those who don't.

I think that, because we don't have a white/asian/hispanic (or any other nationality/race)segregated month, I will pass on segregating African Americans with a month devoted to doing just that.  I think that it is ridiculous that we have a Black entertainment Television network, a magazine called Ebony devoted to african americans, a Black Miss America, and Black pages.  If hispanics, whites, asians, others did this it would be considered racist.  Black History month sets the African American race back several decades so I will avoid embracing racism.

May is Asian/Pacific American Heritage Month
March is Women's History Month, Greek-American Heritage Month and Irish-American Heritage Month
National Hispanic Heritage Month is the period from September 15 to October 15
Native American Heritage Month is in November
October is German-American Heritage Month, National Italian-American Heritage Month and Polish-American Heritage Month

I could go on but I think you see the point. There are in fact magazines for hispanics/latinos, asians, etc so I don't know why you think that Ebony is racist. There is history behind the establishment of Black History month but I guess you would like to remain ignorant and just claim racism.  If you don't know facts don't make these type of statements because someone will correct you

Every race has its magazine(s). .....preferences and history. The future of race is a blended race, not one dominant over any other.

"Black History Month began as "Negro History Week," which was created in 1926 by Carter G. Woodson, a noted African American historian, scholar, educator, and publisher. It became a month-long celebration in 1976. The month of February was chosen to coincide with the birthdays of Frederick Douglass and Abraham Lincoln."

Why a whole month? I taught my sons that all people were created equal and should be treated equal. Why do we they call it black history month and want to be called African American? Also if we should have a white history month, who do you think would be calling us racist. Don't get me wrong here some of my best friends are african americans. I just wonder.
