Migraines and cluster headaches aren't the same thing. It's very possible that you suffer from both but not at the same time

I get migraine headaches and have for about 10 years, although they are reducing in frequency and severity.  They will be on one side of the head (but not always the same side).  The name itself comes from a greek word meaning a pain on one side of the head.  Symptoms (other than the tremendous pain) for me are sound and light sensitivity, as well as a sensitivity to certain smells.  I will have all the discomfort one would attribute to a severe hangover.

Observations I have made seem to suggest that changes in sleep habits will trigger mine, as well as eating a meal an hour past normal meal time or skipping one altogether.  Sleeping up to an hour later or staying up an hour later than my normal routine often trigger mine.  For treatment there isn't really any medication that I have found that works as it seems pretty much the digestive system doesn't function well while I am under the affects.  I have found that cooling half my body and heating the other half can lessen the effects to mostly unbearable instead of entirely unbearable.

Common triggers for migraines include, wine, cheese, the things I mentioned above, and for some people wind blowing on them.  There are others too, but they are less common.

I am not very familiar with cluster headaches but from my understanding they are even worse.
There are only 10 types of people in the world:  those who understand binary, and those who don't.

If you are experiencing either one, you should probably see a doctor. They may discover a cause that needs to be treated (tumors, etc)

There is a difference but I have found that if you keep a journal of what you eat you will find that something you are eating is a trigger for the headaches.
