sticky Mcdonalds drinks
« on: December 26, 2011, 03:58:53 pm »
Why is it when you get a McDonalds drink, they hand it to you with pop running down the sides of the cup? Why cant they just wipe it off for you? You end up with sticky hands and then have to drive with those sticky hands because they never give you napkins so you can wipe the cup off youself. :dontknow:

not that i'm defending mcdonalds, or their sticky cups,
but i've heard from people who have worked in the fast
food industry that you're going so fast (and management
pushes you to go even faster) that mistakes are inevitable.

the person handing you the cup was probably so used to their
own sticky hands that they don't think twice about wiping
it off beforehand. or maybe they were new and were still
getting the hang of the pop machine?

but agreed about the napkins! lol. they rarely give you napkins
anymore...i'm sure its a cost-saving tactic.

I only worked at a fast food place once and I was at the window. You are working so fast that you don't think about it at first. I did wisen up and got in the habit of wrapping a napkin around the cup before I handed it out. I was very surprised at how many people thanked me for doing that. Yes, it does take a wee bit of time but you also have a happy customer.

They have that rotating machine that puts the drink in your cup and it jerks as it goes around.  You would think that they would get tired of having to wash there hands when they touch the cup that they would just wipe it down but that takes to much time.  At the drive through  they have to get the car out in a certain amount of time that is why when your order isn't ready they have you pull forward.
