I'm not sure how many hours your son works a week so if it's not many then yes, he should be able to get his responsibilities taken care of without someone reminding him all the time...also if it is something that you are tired of dealing with then you absolutely should not have to deal with all that considering his age.
For a few years now, I have been working 6-7 days a week and put in many 11-16 hour days and have alot of "job" responsibilities that are always racing through my mind.  I know how easy it is to forget about the personal responsibilities that need to be dealt with.  I have a family member that takes care of my mail, they always call to let me know what is important and they give me the latest news, weather updates, etc.---they save me alot of time and they don't mind doing it.   I appreciate them for helping me.  They keep me "on track" with the daily stuff because otherwise I get so busy that it all just tends to slip my mind or I get so tired that I just don't think about it.  I have offered to hire them as a personal assistant and for awhile that was how it was but then they had a life change that takes alot of their time so now they just say they are happy to help out .
I think it just depends on the situation and what is best for you.  Maybe he'd like to hire you and you could make some extra $$$!!   Hope that helps. :)
