Last Meal
« on: October 14, 2011, 04:48:34 am »
Recently the TX Dept. Of Prisons Banned last meal requests after a lavish request was made and given to a death row inmate and said from now on last meals will be whatever is being served on the unit.
What do you think?

I know I think good for them because did their victims get last meal requests I THINK NOT! :BangHead:

That's cruel and unusual punishment!   I don't see anything wrong with a last meal request.

There isn't anything cruel or unusual about it, don't be absurd.  I have no problem with them providing a lavish last meal if they choose to, and am for it for traditions sake.  If they don't provide this, though, that is perfectly fine for me as well, especially in light of the fiscal situation at the moment.

I read this article and I do think there should be some cap on expense and rarity or the items a prisoner can ask for but I think it shows good will that we can be the better people by providing even terrible criminals some small consideration before they are put to death.

I agree that they should just get what is on the menu that day. They obviously deserved to be on death row. Why treat them to special things.

I think we should let them order the most big, extravagant, delicious meal they can imagine and then lace it with a heavy dose of fast-acting poison.  Then they'll be happy and we'll save money on electricity.  If you think about it, it's a "win-win" situation!

Who ever started that last meal request...... it should just be stopped give me a break they inmates are convicted  tried and in prison for a reason they committed a crime ...... no last meal have the system spend the money on someone that wants to make himself or herself better. :angry7:
