While Steve Jobs was a visionary, he did little to design the first Apple integrated circuit chips and the technology that went into the early Apple products, and those today. He did cheat his first partner out of money and patents. He was a shrewd business man and had great ideas for expansion and global distribution. As a CEO pandering to his stockholders, he excelled.

He was not an easy man to work for and was known to be antisocial, self centered, and verbally abused his staff. He took credit all the time for other people's ideas and work. He was the one people saw unveiling new products to the masses, when he actually had nothing to do with the technology that went into them, nor gave credit to those who did the work. He was a good salesman and had marketing down to a science. The fact that he was a perfectionist had a lot to do with how he conducted business. He did hire the best brains in the field of technology which gave him the edge. He would go to schools like Stanford, MIT, etc., and hire them before they graduated and put them under contract. Some of the "brains" of Apple are now being recognized for their work, and a list is forming for the next CEO. The company will not fall apart because he's gone....far from it.

After saying all that, I own a Mac, and Apple computers/laptops are the finest on the market (in my opinion). However, they will run you about double any Windows based PC's for sale today.

Steve Jobs was a really good sales person, and did push technology in a good direction, but he was never able to do so at an affordable price to the public. All of the products from apple are too expensive for the average person to buy and keep up to date.

It is quite crazy how when we came back to Apple, that his Annual salary was $1. Lol

While this was touted much by the media, use your head and ask yourself how he and his family lived on $1 a year?  What a joke!
