The glass is 1/2 full means to me--just that--its not empty and yet its not full... I have just what I need 4 2DAY-- I must not have needed a full glass  that moment oo I will quench my thrist & move forward!!!

it would mean you are optimistic. The opposite would have been, "half empty". It might depend on the wording I guess, but a glass will be empty in the end

This is a great math and schycological topic! to me the half full glass is always something I feel thankful for. I am very grateful that I have had the life I have now.
