It's normal for a long ride. Although if you are on a ten minute bus ride or miss your stop it might be a little awkward. Snoring and slobbering while you sleep could also be a bit embarrassing.

it is normal and much safer than falling asleep in your car.  I have been so tired driving to work that I feel asleep at the red light..... Thank God my foot stayed firm on the brake pedal and I was awaken to horns honking for me to go forward.  It was a very stressful time of my life and I wasn't getting any sleep ... I guess your body just shuts down when it gets too tired.

I think it's normal, I always see a lot of people do it. when I fly I usually sleep most of the way. It's a good way to get caught up on sleep when you don't get enough during normal days.

I can't ever sleep on public transportation such as buses, the ride is too bumpy. . . :(

I can pretty much sleep anywhere, anytime if the conditions are right (motion). My favorite sleep place is on the plane. The drone of the turbine engines can lull me to sleep pretty fast. Then there are times that no matter how much I try, I can't sleep. I was on a 16 hour non stop flight to Hong Kong and could not sleep the whole time. It was weird. It also took me a long time to get over the jet lag. Coming back 2 months later I slept like a log. Go figure.

Its normal but funny. I do the same especially since i'm incollege. but it tends to be funny when you catch  a person falling asleep and they start leaning on another person lol

Well, don't really ride a train or bus but used to have a long commute to work in a car and do to my sleep apnea used to fall asleep driving unless I played the radio real loud and sang along to it.  Now, i am disabled and I sleep when I want unless I have an appointment of some kind.  And, if I do have an appointment of some kind, I come home afterwards and go to sleep if I want to.  People would say I am sleeping my life away but the days go by one way or another and I just plainly and simply like to sleep.

Motion seems to be awesome for sleeping. Even when tired and can't sleep, if I get in a car or on a bus I am down for the count. Hmmmm, mabe a bed that simulates the motion....OH I would be so on for that.

I have no problem sleeping anywhere.  If I am tired I will sleep I don't care where it is.

That's me too!

So...falling asleep on the train/bus....is it funny? embarrassing? or just normal?

It’s normal if your eyes are too tired. Perhaps from a late night or busy, long day at work? It might be funny and embarrassing if the person is drooling, snoring loudly, or even become unaware their head falling sideways to other passenger seated next to them.  ;D
