The 9/11 Ten Year Honor Program
« on: September 14, 2011, 09:39:23 pm »
:sad1:I really didn't enjoy watching the 9/11 program on television Sunday September 9, 2011 because, because it was very sad and depressing. Some of  the close friends, families members and love ones of those who had died at the world's trade center on 9/11 ten years ago honored them by calling  out their names, and said heart warming words. But the depressing part of the program was that they kept showing the film of the planes flying into the two buildings at the world's trade center over and over again. Which made everybody sad. It ready was a sad celebration especially for the children who are now ten years old and never got a chance to see their Dad.

Indeed sad and depressing......... But to not honor them would be tragic!  Don't you think?   :dontknow:

I actually heard something similar.... Nothing should have been called a "9/11 Celebration". A "celebration" is when you are happy about something. We celebrate the Super Bowl victors or historically V-day is a celebration of when we won WWII. 9/11 on the other hand was a tragedy, a black spot in our history. We don't "celebrate" Vietnam, or slavery, or Pearl Harbor. We may "memorialize" these events and the people that died from the event lest we forget, but to call it a "celebration" is to say that we agree with the terrorists that 9/11 was some type of a victory.

It was a very sad day to watch all those video clips from people who witness the whole thing. It seems like every channel had something about 9/11. I hope to make it to NYC some day and pay my respect to all the people who lost their lives 10yrs ago. 9/11 was just a terrible sad day for everyone even if you don't live in NYC. Everyone was effected in one way or another. The families who lost their love ones were hit the most and there is no words that could ever describe how they feel about it.

I never heard anyone calling it a "celebration", but more a tribute to those lifes that were lost.
