Mailing something with the wrong zip code

Have you ever had this happen to you? Has someone sent you something in the mail but put the wrong zip code on the package? Have you ever wondered where the package would wind up? Well, that happened to my girl friend, her sister mailed her a package and put the wrong zip code and it went upstate NY, when it should be in the city. Now, they have to go and fill out a form at the post office and try to get the package back. But, what if it is delivered somewhere else and what if someone else opened it up and kept the item? Wow, that would stink.
